Why do people wear bracelets with a watch?

FS: Quadtec Stainless Steel Digital Square
I picked up this Quadtec from the maker himself, Fredi Brodmann. This blue version of the the Quadtec had the lowest production numbers of any of the other variations with only 100 made. The Quadtec was produced in the mid 2000's and was unique in many aspects, mainly the timekeeping functions. It has 3 display options. The standard display has hours in the middle, minutes to the right, seconds at the bottom. With another option, the minutes move around the hour every 15 minute in 4 separate quadrants. In the third option, the minutes move around the hour too but in the last 30 minutes it's in a countdown mode where the time displays the minutes approaching the next hour. For example if it's 10:45, the hour shown would be 11, and the minutes 15.
It has the loudest alarm I've ever heard in a digital watch, it plays a tune. It also has the day/date, and a light. Mineral crystal, 50m water resistant. It's 37mm side to side, 45mm L2L, 14mm thick. The finish is perfect except one small spot on the bottom right side.
Including the outer box, case with strap removal tool, manual, card, and a display stand, which I don't think was ever sold to the public.
Asking $179 shipped. I've never seen another like it since joining WUS.

FS- Audemars Piguet 25860 E Royal Oak Chronograph White AP ROC
For sale is a near mint condition 39mm stainless steel Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Chronograph. The 25860 sale is for watch only, does not come with any box or papers. The AP is an E serial, likely produced around 1999/2000. The ROC has a white mega tapiserie dial with circular graining in the center of the sub dials. The case and bezel are in fantastic shape, as is the bracelet. The bracelet is a bit short, only set for a 7 inch wrist at the moment, checking for extra links. The Royal Oak 2385 movement runs beautifully, chronograph and date function properly.
Shall deliver with 15 month in house warranty on the movement for $19,500.
All timepieces come with a 7 day no questions asked return period- will issue 100% refund as long as the timepiece is returned in the same condition in which it was shipped out.

Restoration frustration.
I have a vintage Omega, I believe to be from 1959. Ive been holding onto for awhile. The watch clicks with me, and I just really love it. Though its only 34mm, I wear it on my 8 wrist no problem.
Its all original, and as far as I know, its never been serviced. And if it has been, the last service was in the 70s. Easily. I obtained it from the original owners nephew. Also, 2 lugs are slightly bent, and need to be straightened. Its 18mm lugs currently accommodate a 20mm strap. I spoke about this watch when I obtained it last year.
My issue is having the work done. After having a bad experience servicing/fixing another vintage piece this year, Im hesitant to send it out.
I spoke to an omega service/restoration expert last year that told me I may need to replace the original crystal and crown for the purpose of properly sealing the watch. I said I want to keep all original parts. I was basically told it would be his decision. So I ended the discussion right there.
Does anyone else feel this frustration? Who else has a watch they would love to restore/repair/service, but just get frustrated trying to get it done?
I really just want the lugs straightened, and the movement serviced. Thats it. Nothing else.

FS : Herma Calypso 70s - Valjoux 7733 - French Yachting Chronograph
Hello,
I am selling an old chronograph from the French brand Herma:

The Herma watch company was created in 1953 by the Anguenot brothers in Villers-le-Lac (Doubs).
The Calypso range was launched in the second half of the 1950s, in tribute to Commander Cousteau, from which it takes the name of the famous oceanographic vessel.
Following the marketing of the Herma "Le Mans", which was typical of motorsport:

There have been two derivatives with the same case / movement assembly, but each time with a bezel, the Herma "Le Bourget" for aviation (with tachymeter bezel and slide rule) and the Herma "Calypso" for fishing underwater (with diving bezel):

Alex C. made my first WUS buy great
I was apprehensive about buying a watch from a forum, but Alex was great to deal with, shipped quickly with tracking, and the watch is better than expected. Replaced my old Seiko 6139-6012 that I bought in the Navy PX in 1974, but foolishly discarded when it stopped working. It’s like seeing an old friend again. Can’t keep my eyes off it. Thank you Alex!

Help me find my next Citizen watch, please
With tax season here, I have money coming to me in the form of a tax refund. My only nice watch is a 4th Gen Apple Watch, which cost me $500 a couple of years ago. My budget for my next watch is $400 to $600, and I'm partial to Citizen's. Any assistance, advice or other input is greatly appreciated.

Custom Built Mark 11 Pilot Homage - Dagaz, Alexander James, NH35, Sapphire
Hello all,
Up for sale is my most recent build. This one a an homage to the Mark 11 pilot watch. I built it using an Alexander James case and sapphire crystal, Dagaz dial and hands and Seiko NH-35 movement.
All parts are brand new and the watch has never been worn.
I brushed the top of the bezel but left the side polished which provides a nice visual effect separating the satin bezel and satin top lugs. I also left the case sides polished. The hour hand has been trimmed to a flat top similar to the hand on the historic Mark 11.
The sale only includes the watch head and springbars.
Specifications
Price: $200 which includes US-50 Priority shipping and PayPal fees. I am not interested in trades or international sales. Thanks for looking and let me know if you have any questions.
Best,
Matthew
