Formex Essence Leggera Chronometer
As some of you might know I became a fan of Formex Watches. Already own the Element Full Steel and the Essence Essence Automatic Chronometer Blue.

Now that Formex introduced their new Essence Leggera Chronometer, crafted from lightweight carbon and ceramic, in three new dial versions – Forged Carbon, Cool Grey and Electric Blue I got bitten by the bug again.

But what to go for ? Cool Grey isn‘t really my cup of tea, Forged Carbon and Electric Blue is a head to head race. Problem is, I already have a lot of black dialed watches and I got the Essence with a blue dial. Maybe Cool Grey afterall ? Electric Blue ? At least it is a different Blue compared to the Essence I already own.
I am intrigued by all the technical dials the Formex Essence Leggera does feature:
+ The case of the Essence Leggera Chronometer is one of the lightest, most comfortable watch cases available..I had the chance to "feel" what the Leggera is about re weight when I first saw it at the Watchtime Düsseldorf Event and when I met CEO Raphael Granito at the Inhorgenta.

+ Scratchproof: Formex uses Zirconium oxide ceramics on both the bezel and the crown, making them virtually scratch proof. Four hexagon screws connect the upper and lower case, and should you remove them, you would get a closer look at Formex’s patented 4-fold Case Suspension System, which adapts to the wrist’s movement.

+ COSC: The Essence Leggera is fitted with a Chronometer grade, COSC certified, Swiss Made STP1-11 automatic movement.
+ Excellent value for money ratio: According to the latest info I got in the Cool Grey and Electric Blue models are priced at €1680. The Forged Carbon is slightly more expensive at €1860 ($1880).
+ Icing on the cake: at Munich's Inhorgenta Raphael presented the new FORMEX Essence LEGGERA Carbon Fiber Composite Folding Clasp (a long name I know) with patented fine adjustment system.

Will the BN0211 Tough bracelet fit any other Citizen watches?
Going to put my BN0211 on a stap and with the end links clearly not made to fit the Tough lugs, it must fit at least some other Citizen watch.
I like the bracelet and would love to buy another Citizen and use the BN0211 bracelet.

FS- Rolex 16220 F Rhodium Roman Box Papers
For sale is a near mint condition 36mm stainless steel Rolex Datejust. The 16220 is an F serial that was originally purchased in 2007 from a US ORJ. The package comes with inner and outer boxes, Datejust manual, and original warranty papers. The Swiss Made rhodium dial has applied polished Roman numerals with matching polished hands, all bereft of luminescence. The engine turned bezel is in great shape, as is the watch as a whole. The lugs are thick with great lines, clean brush lines. The 62510 jubilee bracelet has some minor stretch, call it 85% condition. This the latest date I have seen on a five digit Datejust warranty paper.

Rolex Oyster Perpetual 39mm Eye Candy
So I had this OP not long ago for some time back home, and decided to make few shots of it for a review. Very understated and not in your face Rolex with your tipical Jubillee, cyclops and flutted bezel. Really like that BTW, flies so much under the radar and one of 'go anywhere, do anything watches'. I know we (watch guys) love to use that term for Reversos, Navitimers and Speedys, but this is the way to go. Slim, smallish (too small for my wrists to be honest), brushed (polished sides that no one sees and ok - polished bezel) and bulletproof case and movement. No complications, hardly anything can go wrong. So here are some of the shots, hope you like them

Beautiful condition and hardly worn Oris for trade; I'd like to get offers that are in the Swatch Group.

What is the difference between the Seiko 6f24 moonphase and the 7434?
I love these (presumably) 1980s moohphase watches with the big window for the moon and stars. I've noticed that some of the model numbers begin with 7434. I think these ones have a caseback that protrudes more, and there's a little lightning bolt symbol on the dial by the model number. The 6f24 have flatter casebacks and lack the lightning bolt. Any idea what the difference is?

Yema Superman Heritage 39mm Review
I've had an itch for a vintage-inspired diver for quite a while, largely ignited by the release of Certina's DS PH200M and also by watches such as the Oris 65 series. The first I found way too large, and the second just didn't come to fruition. The itch continued. Then one day, I stumbled upon Yema's Superman Heritage. The moment this timepiece appeared on my screen, I was sold. Something about it just spoke to me and drew me in. Fast forward to now you're reading this review.
Yema is a French company with heritage founded in 1948, they have impressive landmarks such as the first French watch in space and racer Mario Andretti wearing their watches. Lately Yema also started developing their own in-house movement. Some specs before we dive in:
![Name: yema5.jpg
Views: 8
Size: 383.6 KB]()
Diameter: 39mm
Thickness: 14mm
Lug width: 19mm
Lug-to-lug: 48mm
Movement: The review watch has the ETA2824-2, but Yema has moved to use the Sellita SW200-1
Bracelet: 316L Stainless Steel with wetsuit extension and 4 micro-adjustment holes
Bezel: Aluminium, 120-click with bezel-lock system
Crystal: Domed Sapphire
![Name: yema12.jpg

Size: 145.2 KB]()
The Superman is a re-issue to a Yema watch from 1970, ref. 53.00.16 (see picture) it's almost the exact watch. Yema claims they've used 3D modelling to get the watch to be as accurate as possible to the original diver.
![Name: yema6.jpg
Views: 7
Size: 128.5 KB]()
Dial
Yema describes the Superman's as a "vintage black dial" and while I'm unsure exactly what the author meant, I think they nailed it. It's really hard to describe black, it's something that has to be seen in real life to be appreciated it's beautiful. The applied markers have a nice crème vintage hue, which some would define as "fauxtina", although it is done very gently here nothing too excessive, much more refined than, for example, the Tudor Black Bay's gilt.
The watch is highly readable thanks to the hands; I cannot place them in an exact "family" of hands but I guess they're related to arrows. The watch is very readable, with the long big minute hand extending until the minute indices, making reading the time at a glance very easy. The seconds hand is definitely unique here "shovel hand" I love the red tip. The superluminova lume is nothing to write home about, which is a disappointing aspect about the Superman.
Crystal
The domed sapphire crystal creates a distortion effect viewed in different angles which contributes much to the vintage feel and style of the Superman, I enjoy looking at it from the sides and seeing the dial pop and distort some may like that less.
Case & Finish
The 39mm case is polished entirely, and while you cannot really admire a fine finishing with your eyes here, the case does its job well and I find it aesthetically pleasing. The lugs are quite long which could deter some from the watch, but I guess the Superman needs to fly somehow right? Measuring 48 mm lug to lug, and despite the long lugs, I think the Superman can be pulled off on thinner wrists as well. Drilled lugs allow a comfortable and quick change of straps, which brings us to the bracelet.
![Name: yema8.jpg
Views: 7
Size: 123.6 KB]()
Bracelet
The bracelet style somewhat resembles a jubilee bracelet but not exactly, it has 5 pieces, with only two polished links and brushed in-between. Aesthetically it flows well with the case but the big thing that disrupts it is the obvious difference between the polished case and brushed bracelet; no idea why Yema went with that. While it's not a biggie for me, it could be a deal-breaker for some. I also found a small gap between the bracelet and lug, which was disappointing and not expected from a company from Yema's caliber.
![Name: yema18.jpg
Views: 7
Size: 104.9 KB]()
The bracelet is comfortable, not a single hair pulled while wearing it and feels silky nice on the wrist. It looks vintage but feels modern, if that makes sense. Fitting for a 300m diver watch, there's a wetsuit extension which works well. The bracelet uses a pin system (think SKX) and has 4 micro-adjustment holes, I had no problem finding the perfect fit for my 7" wrist I like my watches a little loose, so you can shove one finger beneath the bracelet.
Bezel
The aluminum bezel is sweet aesthetically with its minute markings and tiny lume pip, the problem is that it has a lot of play and does not align 100% with the dial (another department it shares with the SKX). The twist is that you probably won't be turning this 120-click bezel a lot, due to the unique bezel-lock system which is a Yema trademark, sort of. It sort of looks like a cage and its function is simply to lock the bezel. As long as the crown is screwed in, the lock is tight in place and the bezel won't turn; two turns of the crown to unscrew it let the lock loose and the bezel can be rotated. The bezel-lock system makes sense until you think about what a diver does when he needs to use the bezel underwater.
I have read somewhere that during the 60's/70's many dive watches had bidirectional bezels which could very easily turn unintentionally, so perhaps that makes sense if we remember that this is a re-issue for a watch released in 1970.
![Name: yema1.jpg

Movement
The venerable ETA 2824-2 powers the Yema Superman Heritage. Not much to say about it that is not known 38-hour power reserve, hacking and hand-wind, 28,800 bph. Recently Yema switched to using the Sellita SW200-1, with which I have no experience, but I was told by Yema that all movements are regulated prior to shipping, which seems to be the case with my Superman that is very accurate. As mentioned earlier, Yema has developed their own in-house movement, and I wonder why it couldn't be used in the Superman as well perhaps because they want to remain true to the heritage, original watch which used an ETA movement?
Packaging
I don't care much for packaging normally but I did like the Yema's. The watch arrived with a nice leather case with the Yema logo, which can also be used as a travel case. The package includes a warranty card, manual and a document stating that the watch has been tested and regulated before shipment.

The price is $1099, I believe you can receive a 10% discount if you contact the very responsive chat representatives on Yema's website. The watch arrives with two years of warranty. I think that the price would be more justified if the watch came with an extra strap, and perhaps if the finishing was a hair better. This watch oozes tons of style and its quirkiness is part of what makes it so cool. It remains true to its vintage origins, maybe too much in some departments, but the "magic" of the piece buys me over, though they could be a dealbreaker for other WIS. If you like vintage divers I think you'll like the Yema Superman Heritage, it's a delight to behold in real life.

Yema is a French company with heritage founded in 1948, they have impressive landmarks such as the first French watch in space and racer Mario Andretti wearing their watches. Lately Yema also started developing their own in-house movement. Some specs before we dive in:
Diameter: 39mm
Thickness: 14mm
Lug width: 19mm
Lug-to-lug: 48mm
Movement: The review watch has the ETA2824-2, but Yema has moved to use the Sellita SW200-1
Bracelet: 316L Stainless Steel with wetsuit extension and 4 micro-adjustment holes
Bezel: Aluminium, 120-click with bezel-lock system
Crystal: Domed Sapphire
The Superman is a re-issue to a Yema watch from 1970, ref. 53.00.16 (see picture) it's almost the exact watch. Yema claims they've used 3D modelling to get the watch to be as accurate as possible to the original diver.

Some "pros and cons" to finish the review:
Pros
- Aesthetically does well to capture the look of 60s-70s divers.
- Comfortable bracelet with drilled lugs allowing for a quick change of strap.
- Heritage Yema is a respectable company, and this piece comes with history.
- Beautiful domed sapphire crystal that makes the watch pop.
- Impressive and useful packaging.
- Movement is regulated prior to shipping.
- Warranty for 2 years.
- Great customer service.
Cons
- There's play in the bezel which doesn't 100% align with the dial, which is very disappointing.
- Lazy finishing (unless it's intentional).
- Stark difference between the brushed bracelet and the polished case.
- Long lugs.
- Could include another strap, as is done by other watch companies.
- Unless I'm missing something, I don't understand why the in-house movement wasn't used.
- Price could be lower.

FS- IWC 3565 Portofino Automatic IW3565 Black Box Papers
For sale is an excellent condition 40mm stainless steel IWC Portofino. The IW3565-02 comes with box and papers. Included in the set are the inner and outer boxes with Styrofoam inserts, polishing cloth, warranty booklet, instruction manual, and undated warranty card. The card is stamped from IWC with model and serial number, but original date of purchase is blank. The watch itself is near int, but the strap has some wear, hence the excellent condition determination. The OEM black alligator strap with tang buckle has some wear. Still has many moons of life left, and appears fine from a couple feet away, but under close inspection is beginning to show its wear.
Shall deliver with 15 month in house warranty for $2,950.
All timepieces come with a 7 day no questions asked return period- will issue 100% refund as long as the timepiece is returned in the same condition in which it was shipped out.

List of companies who don't or do supply parts to independent watchmakers (do we have one?)
Hi all
Do we have a list of companies who either do or don't supply parts to independent watchmakers.
For example does anyone know if Ebel (part of Movada group) supplies independent watchmakers?
Thanks

FS: Seiko titanium alarm chronograph SNA139 7t62-0BZ0
For sale is a used Seiko chronograph in really decent condition. A few light scuffs here and there but nothing heinous. Fresh service and pressure testing. Nice watch with field watch appearance and 7t62 movement, where the subdial at 6 can be used either as a dual time dial or set for the alarm. Subdial at 9 is running seconds hand, 12 is elapsed minutes for the chrono function. All hands align at zero.
I bought this used a couple months ago as not too far off from NOS, and the condition of the case and bracelet basically reflect this. Like with pretty much any used bead-blasted Ti, there are a few very light scuffs showing on the bezel, one on the case back, and some really minor marks on the bracelet. It appears to have been worn sparingly and not on the original bracelet. The pics below are macro and specifically shown in light to highlight the defects -- IRL, they almost disappear, with the worst at 10-11 or so. Crystal is perfect, sides of the case are clean, bracelet looks almost unworn.
When I received it, the main hands and seconds subdial stopped and wouldn't move. The dual time function and chronograph still worked, but what ya gonna do? Bought a new movement and sent everything to Duarte at NEWW, who replaced the movement, installed a new battery, and pressure tested to 10atm/100m -- was still holding pressure so no gaskets were replaced.
Great watch at a very wearable 40mm -- I'm not a fan of large watches and this really fits well while remaining very legible. Excellent lume, screw down crown and solid caseback. Bracelet is Ti, but meh -- hollow endlinks and the middle link is folded, outer links are solid, clasp is pressed. Bracelet sized to 7" wrist.
Comes with everything pictured -- outside sleeve, original box, hang tag, 2 extra links (but only one extra split-pin), watch, and bracelet -- I'll reinstall the bracelet prior to shipping unless you tell me otherwise. Does not come with the fabric strap in the pix. No manual, warranty card or other paperwork.
You can still find these if you look around on a regular basis, but not sure you'll find one with a fresh service/movement/battery, in this condition. As such, I'm asking $300, all in, which includes PP G&S fee and Priority Mail shipping to USA address. Will ship outside USA for additional shipping fees. Not considering offers. Will consider specific trades + cash, including Seiko: SNK793, SNKL43, or SUR317. Only these, no other trades considered.
