MG.Orkina/Hayner Hawk H005 Submariner Homage

MG.Orkina's Submariner homage to a timeless classic measures 40mm by 12.5mm. It cost $60 and has a ceramic bezel insert with a nice pip. The bezel is unidirectional and very crisp. The bracelet links are a little thicker than typical Chinese bracelets, but with the typical Chinese looseness. The silver part of the bracelet and case top are brushed, the gold and sides of the bracelet, and the case are highly polished. The clasp is a simple stamped type with the watchmaker etched on, it lacks a safety latch.

The dial spacer is engraved with the watchmaker's name. The dial is a flat black with lumed hands (not that bright but functional). Note the hour hand lacks the classic trident. The cyclops is positioned okay, but the numbers in the date window are a fraction of a millimeter too high. The crystal is hardlex. The stem doesn't screw down, but no matter, it's not rated for diving. It has an exhibition back, the movement looks like a Seagull ST16.

It's great looking and was a great value, it wears nicely with decent weight, I expect to wear it often.

THE END

3777-17 LPP on a smaller wrist?

$

Hey guys,

Anyone have the LPP chrono on a smaller wrist? My wrist is kind of in between 6.5-6.75”, the 3270-04 fits me well, but wondering if maybe the 43mm has shorter lugs or something that might help it work for me.

I know trying it on is best, but IWC AD is a bit of a trek, so would just like to get an idea maybe see your 3777 on a smaller wrist before heading up there.

Thanks!!

FS: 1955 Hamilton K-504 Stainless Steel Automatic $35 Shipped USA Only

Hello There,

Up for sale is a 1955 Hamilton K-504 automatic watch. This is a stainless steel watch with Hamilton's 661 17J automatic movement.

The K-504 was only offered in 1955 and 1956. This one is a 1955 because this dial was only offered in 1955.

This watch came in a watch lot with 2 other watches that I wanted. I have no idea as to when the watch was last serviced or any history of this watch. There are watchmaker marks inscribed on the inside of the case back but I don't when the last time it was serviced.

The watch runs well and keeps good time. It sets well and winds correctly ether hand winding the crown or moving it around on the wrist to use the rotor.

Comparing this watch with other K-504, it looks original and has the original unsigned crown. However the second hand seems to have been clipped at some point in the 63 years it has been around. I am not sure why.

Watch is well used and has many scuffs and scratches on it but it is 63 years old.

This would be a great watch for one of the following

1. Parts watch (the 661 movement is a great movement)
2. restoration/service
3. Practice watch repair skills
4. Wear it as is

Watch comes on period expansion bracelet.

It is watch only with no books, boxes or papers

I am asking $35 Shipped USA Only

Shipping will be by first class with tracking

Please feel free to ask me any questions

It's time to let go my bagelsport bautilus.
I've enjoyed wearing it the past year but find myself wearing my divers more often nowadays. it looks fantastic. The bracelet imo is pretty nice for the price. it does not rattle unlike my skx.

It is still in good condition with some hairlines on the polished links. I did file the end links on the back side to allow better fit for my small wrist (6.5"). no scratches i can see on the crystal. please see pics and disregard any dust or lint.

condition i'd say is 93.5752%

I also swapped out the crap stock clasp with a butterfly clasp that has button release. it looks and functions great. All the links are included. original clasp *not* included (i dont have it).

Best diver under 2000, need recommendations for criteria!!

I’ve graduated college and landed a job and would like to commemorate both with a nice timepiece. I’ve only owned Seiko’s affordable divers and have always yearned for a little something more in terms of quality (Seikos are great quality too!!). I’m looking for an entry level luxury piece that will accompany me on life’s adventures. I’m looking to spend $1000-2000 max, I would only spend a couple hundred more if it was the PERFECT watch.

Yes I have done my research of this price range of watches and am still feeling “eh” about what everyone says. Nothing makes me fall in love.
I am not all-knowing so I would love some advice!

My criteria:

-versatile

-I have small wrists, preferably something under 43mm

-robust and accurate AUTOMATIC movement (hopefully something like top grade eta, or something that has been adjusted/regulated, I won’t argue with a finely tuned SW-200!!)

-rotating dive bezel. It’s just so useful I can’t go without it honestly!

-awesome (or decent) lume

-DATE function for sure

-clear case back would be great, but nonetheless rare on a diver.

-sturdy screw down crown. Wobbly crowns make watches feel cheap to me

-150+ meters water resistance

-bracelet option

-drilled lugs a plus but don’t need to have them

-good finishing. Fully polished is a no-go. I love good case finishing and edges

-anything that gives the dial some dimension. I love the Sinn options but the printed dial looks flat and boring. Otherwise that’d be a winner

I’m a one-watch kinda guy so although DOXA and such are awesome watches, they are very bold and maybe not good for a suit and tie (who am I to say that though?)

I would love to hear anyone’s suggestions!!! I know that’s some very specific things I’m looking for but I can be swayed away from some of them. There’s no such thing as a perfect watch but I hope to find the closest thing to it for me!

Vintage Tudor Authentication Needed

I recently purchased this Tudor watch for a decent deal. Still have the option to return it but had some questions about the authenticity. (I have case back tools arriving in a couple days to check that out. Buyer seemed fine, the watch has been passed around a different forum.

My main concern was the dial, I have not been able to find this variation of the dial on google. It is supposedly a 1969 Tudor Prince Oysterdate. The hands look alright to me (of age) but the dial seems in excellent condition. The date wheel is roulette. crown seems fine as well. The other concern was the crystal. I've never held one of these in person and even if it has been replaced do they normally sit so high? it seems oddly high to me, though an admitted lack of experience with vintage Tudor.
The bracelet is a generic jubilee replica but I was planning on going with leather anyways.

Im just wondering if anyone has any information, insights or thoughts on this watch.

Thanks WUS!!

Based on past updates, how long until the 3285 (and similar) filter to the rest of the line?

$

The new 'Pepsi' has the 70-hour 3285 movement, with a 70-hour power reserve and other changes.

Based on past updates, do they ever do updates to the other (standard GMT, Batman, etc.) during the year, or will they wait until the next show?

I assume this will also eventually make it into the other sport models (Sub and the like).

We talking 1, 2, 3 years, or something that could actually happen within a year?

Hamilton Khaki Auto 38mm vs Seiko SNZG13

$

Ok, so I am looking at purchasing my first ‘decent’ watch (ie-not a Timex Expedition) and I usually wear a field-type watch. I want an automatic for the fascination with that type movement, I’d like a display back so I can SEE that cool auto movement, and I prefer a date window.

I love the classic looks of the Hamilton Khaki Auto 38mm but the only upgrade that I can see over a Seiko SNZG is the Hamilton has a sapphire crystal which would be nice to reduce daily scratches. The hand wind and hacking aren’t that important to me as this will be my everyday watch. I will be using a brown leather band, so the nicer bracelet of the Hammy is moot.

Please help me understand why a Hamilton is worth three times the price besides ‘name cachet’ and the ‘Swiss Made’ stamp.
Does either watch provide more durability? How is the water resistance in the real- world of each watch (I do fish for trout and get my hands wet)?

Any help appreciated.
Thanks in Advance,
Jed

[HELP] Understand pressure test results

$

I recently purchased a pre-owned Oris Aquis from Jomashop, no box or paper. Came with the watch is a slip that shows the pressure test results of the watch.

P4

Test pressure: -0.7 bar
Maximum deformation: -4.74 um
Tightness value: +1.1%/min
Test1 okay

Test pressure: +3.0 bar
Maximum deformation: +21.68 um
Tightness value: +1.8%/min
Test2 okay

I would like to know what these numbers mean exactly. I've googled around and from what I read these results seem to suggest the watch passed the test. But I'm wondering what exactly does these numbers, like -4.74 um and +21.68 um mean in the two tests? And does this mean the watch can go down to the 300m depth stated on the dial? (not that I would ever do that) Thank you!
