Up for sale is a very rare Butex 200m diver from around 1965. The watch is in worn vintage condition with normal wear and tear for a watch of this age.

The caseback reads as follows: “BUTEX | Swiss | 15530 | All Stainless Steel | Submarine Case 200m | Shock Resistant”. There is also a snorkeler blowing bubbles from his breathing apparatus. All markings on the caseback are very faint.

Case: The is in very good condition for its age and wear. It has either been polished or worn from daily wear. There are no major gashes or notable dings. The underside of the lugs are in good shape. No rusting or corrosion is visible on the case whatsoever.

Bezel: The friction/bidirectional bezel’s insert has some paint chips and regular wear, but all numbers and lines are still distinguishable. The bezel’s edge still allows for a decent grip. Paired with the bezel’s light turning resistance, it is quite easy to turn. It has most likely loosened with age and usage, and could be bumped by knocking the watch against clothing or a hard surface.

Crystal: The acrylic crystal is in good condition with light smudging and small marks. It is very acceptable and is still very clear.

Dial & Hands: The dial has sight discoloration and notable fading/matting. The text and logo is still crisp and visible. The tritium lume plots have aged with the dial. The hands have surprisingly little corrosion and the lume is still intact.

The watch is, to my knowledge, all original. It is definitely a fragile piece, as is expected from a regularly worn 51-year-old watch. Timekeeping and performance is not guaranteed, so please perform your own due diligence before subjecting the watch to anything extreme. I do not open casebacks, so please do not ask for movement photos.

Please feel free to PM me with any questions or negotiations. Thanks for looking!
