I posted this question on a different forum and received zero replies so I am hoping the IWC lovers here are more helpful :-d
I have owned many different ICW models over the past decade but I am about to jump back in time and buy a 3713 Doppelchronograph! This was my dream watch circa 2000 but at the time it was way outside of my budget. Before I spend a fair amount of money on a 15 year old watch I am looking for a few answers.
-Is the height of the watch 15mm, 16mm or 17mm? I have seen all three listed in various places. Unfortuantely I can't try the watch on before I buy it so getting a sense for it's true size is important. I had a 3786 ceramic and it was certainly a chunky beast but I think the 3713 is approx the same height.
-Is this model robust enough to wear daily for activities such as skiing and casual bike rides to the coffee shop? My understanding is that the Valjoux 7750 movement can take a beating but does adding the Doppel over top make it more fragile?
-Once the Doppelchronograph moved from Ref 3711 to Ref 3713 were any further changes made or are all 3713s identical regardless of production date?
-Is there an accepted guideline for how often this model needs to be returned to IWC for servicing? I am less worried about water resistance because I would never (intentionally) swim with it but I expect my Swiss wrist instrument to keep accurate time.
