I browse the For Sale section daily here as well as in other forums, and occasionally come across sales posts with pictures of the movements with the case back removed. I can understand the reason for this to a degree if the watch is vintage, or doesn't come with box and papers. But to be honest, when I see this, I cringe a bit and pass it by. This is particularly true of dive watches with o-rings that have to be sealed properly to be effective. Now I know on some vintage watches, especially Rolex and Tudor which are often turned into frankenwatches by Ebay sellers, this makes more sense. I just don't know how much trust I have in the average seller that while the case back was off, that something could have gotten into the movement, or that they possibly were a little ham-fisted in taking the back off. Just thought I'd broach the subject. What say you?
