I have read some blogs, and got impression that over winding causes significant wear and tear to automatic watch mechanism. Available winders do provide options to set up certain number of revolutions per day or other period, usually something like 650. 900, 1200, etc. However different watches may require different amount of revelations to be performed to be fully or partially winded, and watch winder never knows the real state of the main spring anytime including moment when watch is placed into the winder. Has anybody heard about really smart winder which has ability to clearly detect the state of the main spring and act accordingly? In other words, winder which contains sensors measuring the state of main spring while watch is placed into winder? I mean a winder which can a) detect the direction of winding, because uni-direction and two-direction both are used in automatic watches; b) provide option to set up desired level of winding level between let's say 50% and 100%, based on the measured state of main spring; c) start winding and stop upon achieving the desired level, preventing over-winding; d) keep checking the state of the main spring regularly (once or several times per day) and and wind watch again to the previously established level?
I would appreciate any info on this subject, thanks in advance!
