I've always sort-of thought that an analog quartz three-hander movement (say, any of the Ronda or ETA quartzes) is more durable (shock-proof) compared to a three-hander automatic (say, an eta2824).
Is that actually true? Are (average) automatic movements more fragile to shocks/bumps/impacts than (average) quartzes?
