FOR SALE
Helbros 17j manual wind wristwatch made 1944, was owned and worn by SS officer Emil Augsburg. I was born in CA ( i had american dad, Vincent Hillyer) but grew up in Rome, Italy, with my italian mother and italian grandfather.
My italian grandfather Riccardo Vitale (1903 born in Rome, died 1979 in Rome; his daughter was Milly Camilla Vitale my mother , born 1933 in Rome, died in Rome 2006) met Emil before Italy became enemy of Germany.
Afterwards , late 1944 or early 1945 when Emil went to Rome late during the War, the 2 met again and my grandfather helped him. In return Emil gave him the watch ( among other gifts) i have.
It's a swiss made HELBROS 17jewel manual winding , pics attached. 100% authentic and original. Caliber 820 (rare), schock-protected, Movement mechanically restored in January of this year 2016. Dial, hands, Case original. Crystal and high quality Hirsch strap are modern replacement. Watch works wonderful. Accurate to a few seconds/day.
Markings on back standard DH with issuance number. On the side of Case between lugs is stamped 1007 , same as inside back cover.
Switzerland was neutral and provided watches of many brands to several Countries ( USA, Germany etc) during WW2, including Germany for the Armed Forces , DH. , i think spelling was DEUTSH HEER

I will provide further details on provenance in Letter to buyer.
