I truly don't wish to offend anyone in any way. I'm a libertarian and I believe in the principle of live and let live. What people like, what they do with their private property and how they spend their own money is no business of mine. Having said that, in no particular order and purely my personal opinion only:
* Modding- I just don't get it. When you ''mod'' an SKX007 for example, you no longer have a 007. You have some Frankenstein bastardisation. The worst is when I see things like an MM300 dial transplanted to a 007 and some Sumo hands (as an example) chucked on for good measure. I mean what is that? Now you have neither a 007, a Sumo nor a MM300. I just don't get it. I've seen some that look good for sure, but I still don't get it.:-d
* Nato straps- These have got to be the ugliest things ever and everyone in watch world just seems to love them! I have never seen a single one that looks good- especially the stripy coloured ''Bond'' ones. The worst thing about the Nato strap is when some guy has a really skinny wrist and the strap which is way too long is folded over and over and then tucked in on the edge of the wrist creating this huge padded bundle that sticks an inch out from the wrist. It just looks awful! Why oh why do people do this?:-)
* Orange faced watches- These are quite simply, the watch equivalent of Crocs rubber sandals. An aesthetic crime.:-)
* People who buy automatic watches and then whine on forums about how they are not satisfied with the accuracy. I truly don't understand why if it's accuracy that is important to you, you would buy an automatic watch in the first place. Quartz all the way!:-)
* People who live in perpetual fear that they may have been sold a fake $200 watch. (''Is my SKX009 fake?'') Please. I know it COULD happen but really guys?:-d
I hope everyone realises that this post was written tongue in cheek and no one gets offended by it. As I said, my opinion only. Anyone agree or disagree with any of my points? Any of your own that you'd care to add to the discussion?
