I'm a relative newbie WIS. After having trolled WUS articles for about a year, and joining last September, I finally summoned the courage to post a review about my Hamilton Khaki Aviation Flight Timer. I love this watch. When I purchased it, I was under the impression that it had a TC quartz movement. Being a freak for precision, the only watches I had purchased in the last few years were solar atomics (how could you want anything other than a watch that is always right and maintenance free?).
When I posted my review, I mentioned that it had a TC quartz. Another forum member opined that he did not believe it had a TC quartz.
I replied, "I read it on the internet; therefore, it must be true." I even included the website link and quote:
Hamilton Flight Timer
"The watch is powered by ETA’s E20.373 movement, which is a part of ETA’s super-precision Thermoline family of thermocompensated quartz movements. A big mouth full, but only means a highly accurate watch."
Wanting to go light on this WUS member who apparently does NOT believe that everything on the internet is true (where do these people come from?), I queried him on how we might me able to determine with the same precision of a TC quartz movement whether the Hamilton Khaki Aviation Flight Timer has a TC quartz movement. He suggested I ask the folk on this forum which clearly demonstrates he has lost his mind. Why seek out knowledgeable watch aficionados when you can just read the internet?
Anyway, do any of you know whether the movement in this watch is a TC quartz? For my wife's sake, I hope the answer is "yes" because, if not, I will have to lose another year of my wife searching for the perfect ani/digi watch with a TC quartz movement.
