I am contemplating selling my 2005 El Primero HW (Cal. 420Z), which I bought 2012. Service status at the time was unclear, i.e. highly likely not to have been and hence a full service is long overdue.
I understand that it might be hard/impossible to recover the cost of a service by a higher selling price. Or would you say that a newly serviced watch (which would then also have a proper certificate) yield an on par or higher selling price compared with a potentially non-serviced 2005 watch without proper certificate? The indicative service cost I've got from Zenith is 650 CHF. Did a quick search on Chrono24 and similar Zenith HW's are listed in the $2.1k - 3.3k range (with some outliners in high 3's).
Input regarding your expiriences from similar cases appreciated.
