New Job = New Watch, amiright?

I'm sure I'm not alone in thinking that certain milestones in life deserve to be marked by the procurement of a new watch!

I just got a new job, and I negotiated a higher salary than they offered.* Even though I was desperately hungry for the job! Woohoo!

When trying to psyche myself up for the negotiation, I told myself: hmm, if I get $5k extra, that's practically a Cartier Ballon Bleu! It'd be like getting a free watch!

Now, before you kindly pull me aside and tell me in in the wrong forum, let me tell you, I did not buy a Cartier Ballon Bleu. I am not at the right point in my life for a $5-10k watch, and might never be. But I was still really into this idea of celebrating with a new watch, so I got this fabulous and fun BREDA watch from Marshalls (it's like the store Winners or Tj Max). I bought it because I thought it looked cool and it reminded me of some styles that are in vogue right now.

Price? Well, some light research tells me that BREDA watches tend to go for $90-130. The one I found was $34! I had a $10 gift card so I was thrilled to take the original price of $34 down to $24... Plus tax it was around $28. Not bad for a celebratory watch! :D

And now, of course, the pictures:

Not sure if I'm in love with the strap, but it's fun and I'm going to give it a whirl for summer. Hooray! Thanks for giving me a fun place to celebrate the celebratory watch!

*I am a woman. Statistics say that women do not ask for more money as often as men do. I have made it a personal goal of mine to ask for more money whenever possible! It's still scary though! Last time I asked they said, "Hmm, let me check with the board... Oops sorry no." Making this a major win for me! Woohoo!
